Harry Potter Day

So my brother, Dashiell, has just read the first Harry Potter book and has seen the first movie. He is very enthusiastic about it and has been begging me to play Harry Potter with him. So the other day I took action. I set up a full day of what I call Harry Potter Day.

We started with Potions. I found two fun, quick, and easy chemistry projects. We did a "color potion" first. All it took was some milk, dish soap, and food dye. I looked up fun names for the ingredients on the Harry Potter Wikia.

It was quite simple.

We took a tray and poured a bit of milk into it-

Then we added food dye-

Then we took a cotton swab with dish soap-

And we touched the cotton swab to the dye on the milk-

Ta-da!
Our next potion was the explosion potion.

We took a Sprite bottle and put some baking soda in it. Next was food dye-

And dish soap-

Then we poured a bit of vinegar into it.

Boom!!

After Potions we studied Quidditch and Magizoology.

Then came time for broomstick lessons.

He's pretty fast!
We read the books for a bit.

Then came Charms class.

He learned quite a bit of new spells. He has a knack for it!
Time to take care of some magical creatures!

We have an owl who we fed and groomed.

We brushed our kneasel's long fur.

Our pygmy puff is super cute!

And we kept a couple of dragon eggs warm.

Then we re-watched Sorcerer's Stone.

It was a great day!
