In honor of Buckaroo Banzai Day (a day that Carlin just declared as being 8/8), Carlin, Annaliese and Dashiell watched The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai: Across the 8th Dimension. Well, what does a 13-year-old and an 8-year-old think of this crazy movie? Find out in this quick Riplet recorded in honor of Buckaroo.

This episode is comics Comics COMICS! Michael and Carlin talk about how they got into collecting comics, what they imagined it would be like to pass their collections on to their kids, and whether or not that's really how it's going. Then Annaliese and David join the discussion to talk about Jeff Smith's Bone and John Byrne's Alpha Flight. In the Jetpack Tiger segment, Dash and Carlin cover The DC Comics Encyclopedia, then the gang wraps up with a dinner table discussion in which they create regional superhero teams for Florida and Minnesota.

The Dragonfly Ripple porch gets a little more crowded when Michael and Carlin invite friend Rob Graham over. They get a new perspective on "nerdin' those kids." Then Delaney, Rob's daughter jumps in and the whole crowd of six discuss Star Trek, the Star Wars radio dramas and Disney World. In an extra special segment, the kids take over the show and kick out the parents. Plus everyone designs their own amusement park ride. And in a special Jetpack Tiger, Annaliese talks to Dashiell about Minecraft. This one is chock full of nerdin'!

The Dragonfly Ripple crew tackles sci-fi on this episode. After the dads talk politics (WAIT! Don't let that scare you off! We just talk about how we introduce our kids to politics and don't get too much into actual politics...) we talk about some sci-fi TV with some political angles. First up was the V and V: The Final Battle mini-series from the 1980s and then Firefly. Plus, on Jetpack Tiger this episode we talk about our experience with Star Wars Celebration.

We're back! Our Valentine's Day present to you is this brand new episode in which Michael and Carlin talk about the challenges of scheduling nerd training as kids get older and busier. And with time being so limited, how do we curate what we show them to make sure that it's worth everyone's time?
When Annaliese and David join us, Michael talks to Annaliese about the humor of Police Squad, then Carlin asks David about the differences between the 1942 serial The Phantom and the 1996 feature film starring Billy Zane.
On Jetpack Tiger, Carlin and Dashiell chat about Adam West's Batman. And we close out the episode with everyone's creating their own nerdy Valentine's candy.
